Painter and teacher Libor Kaláb is a long-time member of the Palaestra boxing association, which brings together many personalities of the contemporary art scene across generations. His exhibition of paintings and drawings is a projection of painting work that refers to symbolic and mystical tendencies in art and is at the same time a search for an adequate expression of the Faustian path to hidden truths and sources. The author tries to guide the viewer with the help of hidden and mysterious symbols to his understanding of Hermeticism at the present times. At the same time, he is logically influenced not only by the dramatic events around us and his teaching activities at VŠUP, but also by his long-term involvement in the Palaestra association. The author's remarkable work is a reflection of the blending of his personal development both in art and sport.
