49th ANTIQUE Fair

The ANTIQUE Fair is traditionally the largest and the most representative exhibition of
antiques in the Czech Republic. For the 49th, several dozen antique dealers will present the
most interesting things on offer: from popular jewelry and bijouterie, through glass, porcelain
and ceramics to antique furniture, textiles, historical weapons and old banknotes and coins.

This year, experts and dealers from the organizing Czech Antique Dealers Association
chose as a tribute to traditions the poetic theme of FAMILY SILVER. It will introduce visitors
to ancestral treasures that are passed down from generation to generation in families and
thus live their own specific, often very engaging story. Also it will bring visitors closer to the
beauty of decorative applied art in examples of table settings in interiors.

A novelty is the establishment of cooperation between the Antique Dealers Association and
the current Association of Visual Artists Manes, which will provide artifacts of its members to
the premises of the New Town Hall. Thanks to the new partnership, visitors of the Antique
Fair will see a collection of works worthy of the label "national silver".

Art lovers will be surely also interested in the selection of accompanying lectures, which,
among other things, will offer an excursion into the activities of the Association Manes from
its foundation to the present day, and will surely recall great artists such as Čapek, Filla,
Gočár, Kotěra, Kupka, Lada, Švabinský, Toyen and Zrzavý.

The antique fair will introduce a fine selection of the best and the most renowned antique
dealers from Czech Republic and visitors will have an unique opportunity to evaluate the
state and trends of the current market, possibly add new pieces to their collections, make
appropriate investments or refine their interiors. Where else could you buy a piece of your
family silver? The Antique Dealers Association will also traditionally offer consulting services,
where interested parties will be able to come for a free expert assessment and price
estimate.
